"I recently had a rotator cuff tear repair and Julie assisted me with a 1-hour private workshop to learn how to calmly prepare for surgery. I suggest that you contact her several weeks before surgery so you can have an equally exceptional post-op course as I did. I had minimal pain for 48 hours and no pain after that. I have been sleeping well, able to care for myself with minimal assistance from my spouse. Julie was very helpful in counseling me about my healing statements for the anesthesiologist." — Ginny, MA

"I felt so nurtured, loved, cared for, supported, and met at my space of reality. Julie is wonderfully talented in providing this workshop. She tracked my experience so carefully, kept me on track with relaxing, and gently corrected any attempts on my part to go back into fears or worries! Julie is a caring and skilled person with a generous heart to do this work. People will feel safe and cared for when working with her." — MaryAnn, CO

"I'm 17 years old and was extremely anxious going into my first surgery. Julie made all the difference. She helped me through meditations, gave me tools to use for the day of the surgery and, honestly, her work was something I’ve never experienced before. The doctors said patients who went through this surgery could experience up to a week's worth of discomfort and pain, but for me it was only 12 hours, thanks to Julie. I recommend her to anyone about to have surgery, whether they are anxious or not, because she really does make a difference with the healing process." — Will, MA

“It's been five plus months since my bypass surgery and I'm feeling well both physically and mentally. Your coaching session at the end of August gave me some new tools to prepare for surgery and helped me set expectations for my post surgery recovery. I listened to the audio you created for me every day and remained calm as surgery day approached. Most important was to set and visualize my 90 day recovery milestones on a daily basis. I’m pleased to report that I achieved my milestones, from waking up to my smiling wife Ginny in the recovery room through swinging my golf clubs and pickleball racket after three months I’ve become much more aware of the important role our mind play in the healing process since working with you and am now practicing mindfullness on a daily basis.” — Bob, MA
You have the power to become an active participant in your own healing, and heal faster

You have the power to become an active participant in your own healing, and heal faster 〰️
Hi! I’m Julie.
I discovered the healing power of meditation and visualization when preparing for the birth of my first child. I then later applied these practices to prepare for my own recent surgery, combining them with the methods I now teach. The experience was life-changing — I felt calm before surgery, needed far less pain medication than anticipated, and healed more quickly than I could have imagined!
Because using this method was so transformative for me, I feel called to support others through their own medical uncertainty. I am humbled by the vulnerability and trust my clients place in me. Becoming an active participant in their healing journeys is deeply moving.

A healing session can support any kind of surgery, from joint replacements to bypass surgery to cosmetic surgery and everything in between. It is also useful if you have an upcoming scan or test (i.e. a colonoscopy) that is causing you a high level of anxiety.

Absolutely! The type of meditation that I offer and teach involves listening to an audio recording that is unique to you, from the specifics of your surgery to what healing looks and feels like to you. I will guide you every step of the way with my voice, inviting you to relax and focus on the future you. The fully healed you. As long as you have headphones (recommended but not required), a quiet space, and a willingness to make listening to an audio recording part of your daily routine, this healing session is definitely right for you.

Many clients find that the practice of listening to a guided meditation once or twice a day in preparation for surgery also creates a deep sense of inner calm that lasts well beyond their procedure.

If your child is at least 14-years-old, and the intake call (mandatory for minors) involves both parent(s) and child, I am happy to conduct a session with them. As with all of my sessions, this work is meant to complement current treatment plans as prescribed by your child’s medical team and is in no way meant to conflict with or replace them. Please consult with your child’s physician before scheduling a session with me. If your child is 13-years-old or younger, I will happily work with one or more parents. A pre-surgery session for a parent of a child undergoing surgery would involve creating visualizations of your child’s healing journey. The goal of these sessions is to help a parent experience deep relaxation so that they are better prepared to support their child from a place of calm. If a parent is able to visualize their child healing, they are able to help their child focus on healing as well.

What a lovely idea! Yes! A healing session is a beautiful way to show someone you really care about them. A session with Julie is a unique baby shower gift for an expectant mother who is nervous about a scheduled C-Section. Perhaps you live at a distance from a loved one and want to show up for them in a meaningful way. Or you just want to support a family member or neighbor who you think will benefit from a healing session. Once a session is purchased, it is valid for one year from the date of purchase, so the recipient can book a session at a time that is most convenient to them.
-
A typical session begins with 20 – 30 minutes of conversation about your specific procedural concerns and what you imagine complete post-operative healing will look like for you. Next, Julie will ask you to get comfortable and she will guide you through a 12-15 minute meditation that is unique to you and your needs (which she customizes immediately upon finishing the discussion portion of the session) and she records it live and sends it to you soon... At the end of the session, there is an opportunity to share feedback and ask any lingering questions.
-
The ideal time is at least two weeks prior to surgery so you have plenty of time to practice using the guided meditation on your own following the session. That being said, clients who have booked sessions a few days ahead of and even the morning of their surgery have reported positive results.

A one-hour session with Julie, plus the customized audio, follow-up call and access to Julie via email, text or phone is $225 per session. Although a second session is rare, Julie has seen clients after surgery who are looking for ways to reach interim healing goals (i.e. walk up and down stairs unassisted or return to driving their car). A follow-up session is $150.
